BSH Controller App

Guten Morgen zusammen,

Was genau bemängelst Du?

Startzeit der App? Mobil oder Lokal im WLAN? Updatedauer? …?

Hi,

The app works fine to setup devices (a bit of a hassle compared to some other manufacturers) and the option to configure the automations by the "if/and/then" is really nice. Basic requirements that behind the scenes are met by pretty advanced and solid methods, which is much appreciated.

However, looking at the non-technical side of the app, perhaps to increase engagement and the happy wow effect for customers...

  1. How can I use the app to view a single overview of the status (connection, battery, temp, valve) of all connected temperature devices? Now I have no idea how and what all devices are doing, or must check them one-by-one (26 in total * 6 touch/menu actions). Polling once per hour (or even twice a day or something) would be fine for this report.

  2. How can I use to app to view/activate a simple (better: nice looking, detailed, easy scrollable) graph of temperature (or other device on/off/usage) history (daily, week, month), for example in intervals of at minimum 10 min, for every device/room? Now I have no idea what happens (or happened) when not in the room. Of course I can take an hour off and go check all devices in the app again, but I just want to see this at a glance say once a day, while having a beer and relaxing, feeling like Bosch has had everything under control the past day.

  3. How can I copy the temperature schedule of 1 room to the other 6 rooms instead of being forced to configure the same schedule in every room over and over again? Now I can only copy from one weekday to other weekdays in the same room. Eventually people will forget this happened, but the setup process is not that friendly this way. Makes me think twice when buying other stuff and comparing manufaturers, instead of remembering the flawless setup of Bosch.

  4. How can I configure my home controller in the app, while also having my office controller configured, and easily switch between both?

  5. After introducing those features, it would be nice to have a makeover of the interface (colors, borders, dashboard, menu structure, ...) in the  app and have the greatest wow effect! Very important tip: while implementing these semi technical features in the background, check out some other app interfaces of comparable product manufactuers, have some new generation non-technical hipsters try out a few different interface sketches and let them pick the (or suggest new) most attractive and easy usable one (outsource this one time project to a pro UX/UI party).

Having these would really complement the app and Bosch experience.

Hi @023NL,

Thank you for your detailed and valuable feedback on our Bosch Smart Home App.

Most of your wishes have already been mentioned here in the forum by other users and are therefore known to us. I will gladly take up your wishes and forward them to the appropriate department.

Best Regards

Sabrina

Thanks!

Exactly that! Great summary!

Was verstehst Du genau unter Ladegeschwindigkeit?

sehe z.b daran ob mein filter langsam zugeht

Hi Geomo,

How about daily use of graphs, to see your heating and gas/electricity use compared to the experience in the rooms, and be able to adjust? How long it takes to heat up a room? What happened in the week when I was on holidays? Do Bosch devices really work as well as they promise while I am not home? I think a lot of people find this useful. At least a few Bosch competitors have this feature, and I really like it.

Also, if it would be so easy to do something with the Rest-API, why does Bosch not use this themselves? It would make more sense Bosch doing this 1x and show it nicely in the app as a feature, instead of 1 million customers doing this over and over and using different apps. And I don't think my grandmother will be able to program something with the rest API.

It's just two very valuable feedbacks by two different people, and it feels like you are trying to counter attack instead of being open to do something with it - of course, it can also be that Bosch is not interesed in providing these features, but hope this explaination helps to turn that around.

Thanks,
